Call For Volunteers

Santa Teresa Little League relies on the time & talent of hundreds of volunteers each season to bring our mission of teaching life lessons through the game of baseball to life!  


During the Registration process, we asked each family to complete our volunteer acknowledgement, committing to support the League in some volunteer capacity.  As part of that commitment, we ask that each family have one adult register for a volunteer role through our website. This will kick off the background check process (which is required for all volunteers).


Not sure what to volunteer for?  Below is what we have the biggest need for right now:


For Team Based Roles, we are in need of Managers at the lower levels (Pre-Tee, Tee-Ball and A), Assistant Coaches (all levels) and Team Parents (all levels).


For League-Wide Roles, we are looking for Volunteers to fill the following roles.  If you would like to learn more about these roles (or are ready to sign-up!) please email our Team Parent/Volunteer Coordinator.


NEW ROLE:  Equipment & Clothing Exchange Coordinator(s)

We would like to start a Baseball Equipment & Clothing Exchange program at our Tryouts & Opening Day.  However, we need a volunteer (or group of volunteers to manage this effort).  The idea here is to give parents an opportunity to pass on gently Baseball Equipment & Clothing (we know these kids grow out of things way too fast) to other families who may need them.


UIC:  Umpire in Charge

Serves as coordinator of and advises the league President on the league umpire program; responsible for recommending umpires to the league President for appointment to the league umpire roster; recruiting and retaining volunteer umpires; establishing a league umpire training program consistent with Little League® guidelines; coordinating and assisting with conducting umpire clinics at league and district level; communicating rule changes to league umpires; scheduling league umpires for regular season games; evaluating league umpires using established guidelines to maintain program integrity.  

This is a Board Position


Umpire Scheduling Coordinator(s)

Assist the UIC with the scheduling of Umpires for AAA Level Games & Up.  Will include communicating schedules and maintaining the list of umpires.  


Equipment Coordinator(s):

Will assist the Equipment Director with the preparation and check-out/check-in of Team Equipment to Managers.  

This is not a Board Position, but we are looking for a volunteer who would be interested in joining the board in future years as the Equipment Director


Uniform Coordinator(s):

Assists the Uniform Director with the ordering and distribution of uniforms.

This is not a Board Position, but we are looking for a volunteer who would be interested in joining the board in future years as the Uniform Director


Field Coordinator(s):

Works with Fields Director to identify and address issues at assigned Field. Gains knowledge of Field specifics (Water location, supplies, etc). Ensures Field is mowed on a regular basis throughout the season.  Leads volunteers at Field Improvement Days.


Social Media Coordinator(s):

Works with Information Officer & Communications Director to maintain a year-round Social Media Presence.  Creates & Posts relevant content to promote League Activities and bring new Families to Santa Teresa Little League.
