Santa Teresa Little League

It takes a Community to put on a Baseball Game

Santa Teresa Little League is a non-profit community organization that relies exclusively on unpaid volunteers to accomplish its mission of helping kids build character through the game of baseball.  As such, parents are expected to contribute time and talent throughout the season to help the kids and ST community have a great baseball experience.

They say it takes a village to raise a child.  We believe that it takes a community to put on a baseball season.  Families who join the league are expected to, at a minimum, volunteer to support Game Day Activities.

Game Day Volunteer Roles

  • Manager
  • Assistant Coach
  • Team Parent
  • Umpire (Umpires are assigned from teams all other divisions for AAA Games & Up)
  • Snack Shack - Assigned by Home Team
  • Field Prep
  • Field Clean-up
  • Scorekeeper (Game Changer) - Assigned by Home Team
  • Pitch Counter - Assigned by Home Team
  • Scoreboard Operator - Assigned by Home Team
  • Team Photographer
  • Garbage Duty (Each Team is responsible for emptying Garbage near their dugout after every game, Home Team, covers Snack Shack Garbage Cans)
  • After Game Snacks (Lower Divisions)

Umpire Assignments

Each Team will be assigned Umpire Assignments for games in other divisions.  A Plate & Base Umpire are needed for every game in AAA and above.  While we have a group of volunteer Umpires that cover many assignments, each team will be assigned about 3-8 Umpire Assignments per season (Less in the lower divisions and more in the Uppers).  The Umpire Assignment is a TEAM Assignment, not a Manager Assignment.  The Manager and Team Parent will work with parents on the team to fill these assignments.  In the event that a team cannot fulfill it's assignment, a buyout Umpire may be able to cover the game.  The buyout fee is a Team Responsibility.
